BASF Test Brick – Number Only (1)

These bricks have been found together with BASF V-bricks with closed studs. Looking at the mold markings, this mold must have been made using elements from a previous mold.

Logo: Modern logo.
Material: ABS.
Inner ribs: none.
Inner tubes: bottom rounded on the inside.
Flowrib / center line inside top surface: Yes.
Mold pip: just above the center on the short side.
Mold numbers:

  • 11 of the 16 bricks in this mold have a number above the right tube, the other 5 bricks have no number.
  • The positions are identified by the markings: 5, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, four different unnumbered bricks with the pat.pend erased and one brick with the pat. erased and the pend not erased.

Intellectual property protection: None or Pat. pend. erased.
Colors known: Several non-production colors.
Remarkable features: A mix of bricks with and without pat.pend marks.
Unanswered questions: Like so many of the odd bricks… why were these made?
